Bio From Masta-Hattori: I am feeling nostalgic, so I will do a brief oral history of NINJA since it is not well known. The clan was founded in May 2007 and I was actually a co-founder along with some goober because he had claimed the NINJA tag first. He was awful in-game and as a leader so I eventually forced him out and started building our Jedi roster.

People don’t realize that this was actually during a lull in the community. JOG was semi-retired and not actively doing clan matches. SDJ was on hiatus and BOJ had broken up, so we were coming into our own at a very weird time in the game’s history. The top dogs on the scene were Zarex’s OES spin-off clan {LOS} after his falling out with Superman. Our claim to fame was beating them with a roster of no-name players with very little experience.

We had only done 2 other clan matches before our series vs LOS, and were actually just coming off a loss against DMV. For those that don’t know DMV had a popular Jedi server where they pretty much let anyone who wanted to be in their clan rock the tag. They still had a go-to battle roster and were pretty decent. We lost by 1 kill because I went to do a 1-hit aerial with Luke and missed, leading to a scrap kill. I’ll never forget it lmaooo. Little known fact is that DMV Darth~Ino was likely the person who discovered the Perfect Block and is the player Sinister credits for being the grandfather of the ramp playstyle.

After beating LOS twice, NINJA’s reputation started to grow a bit. If you look at our clan record you’ll see a lot of tags you don’t recognize but it just goes to show how weird of a time period Summer of ’07 was. We could only beat what was in front of us and for a brief time we were technically the best active Jedi clan in the game until SOR formed and SDJ came back.

The final match against LOS shouldn’t technically count as a win for us. Superman wanted revenge against Zarex so he joined NINJA when he heard we were doing a 3rd match against LOS. Superman then asked me if I would let SuperDuper be our 3rd for a 3v3. In order to not raise suspicion, SuperDuper smurfed Sinister’s name at the time: “{Ninja}Kenshin” who happened to be away from the game due to personal reasons. (Sinister yelled at me when he found out about this)

We absolutely crushed LOS with that line up and they disbanded. It turns out SuperDuper used that match to recruit Zarex and Superman into his latest iteration of SDJ lmaooo. He was truly the ultimate sith lord. What JOG’s holonets say is true.

Those are all the juicy stories I have. NINJA was a solid clan, but we missed out on the opportunity to cement ourselves as one of the best due to timing. We never got an official match on the books with SOR, only scrims. We finally got our match with JOG in 2008 but by then our roster wasn’t what it used to be and the lack of clan matches available in Jedi made me want to expand the clan to PS3. FINALround and I were the only NINJA members to play beyond 2008; not counting Neji and Sinister who both forged their own paths after leaving.

NINJA survived as a clan until at least 2014 and we competed in a variety of games on PS3. We were a Top 50 COD4 clan on the MLG ladder and competed successfully in Killzone 2, Uncharted 3 and SOCOM Confrontation.
